Nadler Challenger Pays Tribute to the Constitution on July 4thSubmitted by Jim McCabe on 2008, July 5 - 11:04pm.
Friday, July 4, 2008, New York, NY Adam Sullivan, who is challenging Representative Jerrold Nadler for the Democratic nomination in New York’s 8th Congressional District, observed Independence Day by honoring the Constitution. Sullivan joined noted civil rights attorney Norman Siegel, State Senator Bill Perkins, the Granny Peace Brigade and Reverend Billy of the Church of Stop Shopping for the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and Bill of Rights at Strawberry Fields in Central Park. Campaigning on the promise that, if elected, he will uphold the Congressional Oath of Office “to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic,” Sullivan contends that Nadler has broken his Oath of Office—an oath he has taken eight times—by refusing to pursue impeachment against President Bush and Vice President Cheney.
