Disappointed, an understatement!

I went door to door for John Hall and yet I have not seen him do anything that might be called progressive. When is Bush going to be impeached?

I supported Barack Obama and more and more he sounds like Bush. What is going on?

Obama's health care proposals will just keep the insurance companies in power.

Will we have a war on poverty? Will we end the war on drugs? How about the war on terror?

He seems to favor war all over the place? What the FUCK? He even wants to increase military spending. That is sick!

This country is worse than pathetic. OBAMA does not seem to be an alternative to Bush. Does anyone disagree?

The Palestine/Israel June 10th Rally

I would like to go to the June rally but would need a ride. I have to admit that I don't fully agree with the organizers position. The Two state solution is not viable and the Israelis insist that Israel must exist forever as a Jewish State. Problem: What is to be done with the Arabs who used to live their?

The following article has a sensible argument.

This article can be found on the web at
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20070618/makdisi

For a Secular Democratic State
by SAREE MAKDISI

[from the June 18, 2007 issue]

This month marks the fortieth anniversary of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem. Four decades of control established and maintained by force of arms--in defiance of international law, countless UN Security Council resolutions and, most recently, the 2004 Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice in The Hague--have enabled Israel to impose its will on the occupied territories and, in effect, to remake them in its own image.

Don't compromise with evil.

I sent this letter to the editor of the Record a few days ago.

Dear Editor,

Our Government is an embarrassment. We illegally and immorally attacked Iraq and further we have fought an occupiers imperialist war for 4 years with a resultant high death count and many Iraqi children suffering from malnutrition and cancers.

The overwhelming majority of Iraqis of every type want us to leave. The majority of American people want us to leave. Yet the Criminal Bushite regime refuses to leave.

I beg the people of this country to rise up and take back our country from this government.

Cheney hints at Iran strike By Greg Sheridan

February 24, 2007 01:20am

US Vice-President Dick Cheney has raised the possibility of military action to stop Iran acquiring nuclear weapons.

He has endorsed Republican senator John McCain's proposition that the only thing worse than a military confrontation with Iran would be a nuclear-armed Iran.

In an exclusive interview with The Weekend Australian, Mr Cheney said: "I would guess that John McCain and I are pretty close to agreement."

The visiting Vice-President said that he had no doubt Iran was striving to enrich uranium to the point where they could make nuclear weapons.

ALL OUT FOR A UNITED EFFORT TO PROMOTE PROGRESSIVE IDEAS

People, members and supporters of PDA, it is now urgent to promote progressive ideas at the electoral level.

I am actively supporting John Hall in the 19th congressional district in the effort to drive out the reactionary Sue Kelly.

But statewide it is very important to back the Green Party and their excellent slate of candidates. No they have no chance of winning but they have a good chance of achieving ballot status. That makes it crucially important to vote for Malachy McCourt for Governor. Ballot status changes the zeitgeist! It is a warning to the corporate Democrats not to take progressive support for granted.

Get Organized, Agitate, drive out Bush

There is a necessary fight against fascism as represented by Rummy and other Bushites. Unfortunately the left is divided and ineffective as usual. However, I recently got an email from the World Can't Wait and they are hoping to organize a super political action on October 5th. They are also asking for donations. Hopefully we can really do something to change history. They can be found at the

An obvious solution to the Arab Israeli conflict

Hizbullah's attacks stem from Israeli incursions into Lebanon

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article14323.htm

By Anders Strindberg

08/01/06 "Christian Science Monitor" -- -- NEW YORK – As pundits and policymakers scramble to explain events in Lebanon, their conclusions are virtually unanimous: Hizbullah created this crisis. Israel is defending itself. The underlying problem is Arab extremism.
Sadly, this is pure analytical nonsense. Hizbullah's capture of two Israeli soldiers on July 12 was a direct result of Israel's silent but unrelenting aggression against Lebanon, which in turn is part of a six-decades long Arab-Israeli conflict.

Anti-Stupidity

One doesn’t often associate the word stupid with Jews. C Wright Mills associated the word crackpot with American Foreign policy. American Foreign Policy has been mostly based on a militarist view of the world, that is, if there was a choice of policy Americans always carried the big stick and took the moral low road.

I was in Israel during the Yom Kipper War. On Israeli radio they were playing Pete Seeger and Joan Baez and many other anti-war singers and on Arab radio stations they were playing Military Marches.

Who won?

RIGHT WING SCUM IDEAS OF MILITARY DOMINATION NOW DOMINATE IN THE USA AND ISRAEL. In the long run military policies and ideologies only have negative effects. The Jews with their walls and the harming of Palestinian lives will only bring calamity on themselves. Building up reasons for hatred is absolutely stupid. Taking the moral low road is always stupid. Jews are acting in a very very stupid manner.

Can anyone here use this information from a recent e mail?

Dear Lewis,

We know that the right-wing has dominated the media for decades. It didn't happen overnight and it didn't happen by accident. Now, if we learn the tools, our nationwide grassroots network has a chance to take back our media.

Throughout the summer, DFA Night School will offer three online sessions that will help build your media skills. The sessions combine an online presentation with a live conference call and group discussion with our trainers to show you how to get a progressive message into the media. You can join any or all of the DFA Night School sessions from the comfort of your home or office today. Click here to sign up:

Lebanon as the future

Lebanon’s Expendable People

By Mike Whitney

07/19/06 "Information Clearing House" -- -- The most shocking thing about Israel’s assault on Lebanon is the dispassionate precision with which the bombardment has been carried out. From bridge to granary, from granary to power plant, from power plant to factory, from factory to mosque, from mosque to hospital, from hospital to apartment building; each decimated with the calm disdain of a surgeon removing a cancerous tumor. We get no sense of rage in Israel’s behavior, just the calculated savagery of men who see their duty as systematically decapitating an entire civilization and leaving it in ruins.

Hillary Clinton and the New Fascism

Hillary Clinton the other day addressed a Jewish rally of solidarity with Israel in which she said that Israel and the USA have the same values. With this I agree; both are racist fascist states. Most all of the Democrats with the exception of Kucinich and a few others have rallied around the Neo Conservatives in defense of Israel. Israel has been given carte blanche to expand to "greater" Israel. The despicable slaughter of Lebanon and Palestinians has ended any chance of peace and we are now into a major slow running but catastrophic world war. The Democrats have declared they are fully backing this war, in fact they have been promoting these types of ethics historically.

Fight Fascism

Gods among Ordinary Men

By Charles Sullivan

07/17/06 "Information Clearing House" -- -- When a man abuses the power that was entrusted to him by the people there is clearly a void between what the people want and what they receive. Such abuse stems not only from immense hubris, but from contempt for the people and for civil law. The president, we will recall, is a man who referred to the Constitution to one of his Whitehouse aides as “…just a god-damned piece of paper.” Bush and his cacophony of neo-conservative fascists clearly hold the most sacred institutions of this nation in contempt, including the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
