Jonathan Tasini today announced his candidacy against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Senate nomination. Tasini was president of the National Writers Union for many years, and has been active in the campaigns for labor rights and against Walmart. He is running on an anti-war, anti-corporate power platform, and has been endorsed by Cindy Sheehan, Barbara Ehrenreich, and PDA national director Tim Carpenter, among others. Lots more information at his website:

PDA (National) has not officially endorsed Tasini.
However, they are looking to PDA New York for guidance. I'm interested in hear opinions from all of you.

Eventually, an official vote to endorse a candidate can only come from bona-fide PDA Chapters within New York State. Many of you have expressed an interest in leading chapters in your area. Expect an email in the near future. At the moment, we have only one official chapter. See this website for a listing:

I think it important to beat back Hillary. She is a stuck up reactionary rich bitch.

I don't know who is the best candidate, Greenfield or Tasini or anything much about them. I do like the Green Party and as far as I can see the Democrats are too wedded to reactionaries. I wouldn't want to see the Progressive Democrats become another Working Families Party. I think we need a third party movement desperately and doubt that the Democrats can be turned into a "Third Party".
