NEW YORK CITY PDA CD 14 ENDORSES DENNIS KUCINICH FOR PRESIDENT!
Last night, in an overwhelming show of support, local democrats voted to endorse Dennis J. Kucinich for the Democratic Presidential nomination.

Citing his voting record, which is strongly and unwaveringly anti-war, his health care plan which is single payer and not for profit, his support of Social Security, education, and his position on the elimination of NAFTA among other very important issues to the American people, Progressive Democrats of New York, 14th Congressional District (PDNYCD14) gave its endorsement to this great candidate. The 14th Congressional District encompasses the East Side of Manhattan, Roosevelt Island, and, in Queens, Astoria, much of Long Island City, Sunnyside and parts of Woodside.

“Kucinich's views speak to the majority of the American people whether they are concerned about their health, safety, jobs, the education of their children or the economy,” said Veronica Borrer, NYC Media Director for the Kucinich campaign, and a member of PDNYCD14. “We are lucky to have Dennis running in this election.”

Currently polling in a Nationwide Democracy For America poll, right behind Al Gore (26.5%), at 24.3% Dennis Kucinich remains immensely electable (http://www.democracyforamerica.com/).

“Kucinich is in it to win,” said Alice Slater, PDNYCD14 chapter point person. “His vision for peace is our vision; his sensible solutions to intractable problems of militarism, energy, trade, and general welfare are what we want for our country. Please follow our lead and send a message that Kucinich’s views on these important issues which profoundly affect our lives must be included in the Democratic Party Platform and supported by the Democratic leadership. Voting for a Kucinich endorsement will send that message loud and clear to our party leaders.”
