Re: The candor of George Bush By Bill Schneider CNN Washington Bureau Friday, December 16, 2005
With all due respect, Mr. Schneider misses the point of Bush's supposed "candor" in his "Play of the Week" column. Bush's "admission" that his administration made mistakes still clearly passes the blame onto intelligence agencies for supposedly providing faulty intelligence. In other words, it's the exact same evasion he's been using all along. Where's the candor? In this case, candor would be to admit that they twisted intelligence by leaving out inconvenient information and lied to the American people by telling us that Saddam, Kim Jong-Il, and the Iranian Imams (the "Axis of Evil"... remember that???) were responsible for 9/11.
