Petition to Stop Funding the Iraq War

Submitted by Jim McCabe on 2008, April 20 - 6:50am.

With Congressional debate on a $100 billion supplemental appropriation for the war in Iraq at hand and voting to take place in late April / early May, we need to let Congress know now: NO MORE FUNDING FOR WAR. Please help us deliver this message to members of Congress by gathering petition signatures from residents in your area. A member of our CD 20 chapter originally came up with the idea for the attached simple petition form that other PDA chapters can easily modify for their member of Congress. You'll need to identify a point person to receive / deliver the signed petitions.

The idea is to gather as many signatures as you can and return them by mail to your designated contact who's address you include at the bottom of the form. Then, deliver the signed petitions to your member of Congress in the next week or so – before the vote on funding takes place. You may wish to coordinate a time to gather petitions on the street outside your member of Congress's office.
