Evil has a short shelf life

Hello All,

Throughout history, even considering the reign of the Roman emperors, real evil has always had a very short shelf life. I think Hitler had the longest run in modern times - about ten years. That ten years coincides within the time frame that he had absolute power. Absolute power, mind you, over a nation of people known previously for their civility, intellectual prowess, and progressive politics.

And now here we are on the verge of 2006 and five years into the run of Richard "Dick" Cheney - Vice President of the United States. I would also give some credit to the man he supposedly works for but that person is far to feeble and mentally infirmed to be all that evil. I don't know if you can impeach someone for just being of simple minded. No, Dick Cheney gets the credit here although I doubt he wants it.

Dick Cheney is a certified, world class war criminal, a liar, and evil. He is, as we might say down south, a thieving fat fraud. Dick Cheney is impeachable and should be - Impeached. Were I already elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, I would rush to the well to introduce articles of impeachment against this modern tyrant.

At the very least we will save some face with the world.

I do fault Mr. Bush (both of them) for picking Dick Cheney. Once he (Cheney) got by without paying his electric bill over at the VP residence and didn't have his lights turned off, he knew he had real power. Since that historic moment, he, like 19 years olds on spring break, has gone wild.

In my opinion a Vice President of the United States does not need a national security advisor any more than the first lady needs one. The VP is there for two purposes - preside over the Senate (which he never does) and worry as to the President's health.

I don't know if Mr. Bush can be impeached because there are laws in our country (not that he adheres to the ones he don't like) protecting the simple minded.

Impeach Cheney. Pure evil can never last long because it goes against human nature.

There are no laws in the United States permitting our government to spy on its citizens via wire taps without court authorization. Our Vice President is a criminal. Sometimes it takes time for good to win out over evil but it always does.

Running in Upstate New York

I am creating this blog for two reasons.

#1 - I am a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from the 20th Congressional District in upstate New York. My campaign web site is www.gullerforcongress.org
Please visit and post your comments and maybe a picture of your pet(s). I'd like as many people as possible to know that I'm a candidate. I have an opponent in the upcoming primary. I happen to think that she's terrific so take some time to check her out too.

#2 - There are many misconceptions concerning what a candidate does during a campaign. This is a very large district with lots of different personalities. I'm happy to talk to everyone, of course. And I'm just as happy to answer any questions that come up. Here's an opportunity for you to ask me about the day to day happenings in my Congressional campaign.

I've already suffered through two photo shoots. I don't photograph particularly well, I think. My beautiful black Labrador retriever did the entire thing with me. She's decided to cover this campaign with me. If you're coming to see us please bring a good question for me and a good dog biscuit for her.

Up to this point I have launched a campaign web site, appointed a Treasurer and Custodian of Records, hired a Campaign Manager, Field Operations Director, Media Consultant and looked at office space in Clifton Park, NY.

Our location (the snow belt) makes getting around and keeping appointments difficult sometimes and most of our work is taking place via phone. Our office in Clifton Park opens January 15, 2006 and everything seems to be falling into place nicely. When things get too hectic (and they will), I just take a long walk with Samantha (my dog) and think things through.

I'll post news as it happens and I'll answer question as they come in.

Welcome Morris,

I have to differ with you on the Bush/Cheney thing. People tended to see Hitler as a dullard surrounded by expert handlers who manipulated him. He encouraged this as a way to keep control over his minions (they were too busy fighting each other to attack him) and to absolve himself of any blame for his own decisions (we still can't tie Hitler directly to the Holocaust). Making people think you're dumb, like Bush does, gives you the power to manipulate people and occasionally surprise them with your unexpected deftness.

I have little doubt that Cheney and Rumsfeld are behind many of the worst decisions and policies of this administration. However, on his own, Cheney would be nothing, a powerless, hated, and twisted man, like Golum without the ring... same thing with Rumsfeld.

Bush has one quality that Cheney and Rumsfeld lack... He's a politician's politician. Bush has a mastery of manipulative and divisive political gamesmanship honed through years of heavy drinking and insistent denial that he even had a problem. He has the unscrupulousness to twist reality to his convenience and the conviction to make himself believe virtually anything he makes up, so he can speak from the heart. Don't be fooled, Bush is far more dangerous than you realize.
