COME MEET JONATHAN TASINI, NEW YORK CANDIDATE FOR SENATOR AND LEARN HOW WE CAN CHALLENGE HILLARY CLINTON'S SUPPORT FOR THE WAR!

Dear Friends,

At our first PDA organizing meeting last week in Manhattan, we decided to form a New York Metro Group with a Steering Committe and to meet again on February 27th to continue the formation of PDA Congressional District Chapters and focus on important New York issues such as the upcoming Senate primary, election machine reform, and garnering support for various congressional bills to bring the Iraq war to a swift close. We are delighted that Jonathan Tasini, a PDA supporter who is challenging Hillary Clinton in the upcoming primary for the Senate nomination, will be joining us. To learn more about his campaign, go to www.tasinifornewyork.org

If you were unable to join us last month, we urge you to come to our February 27th meeting at Local 1199, 310 W. 43 St at 6:30 to 8:30 PM. The Steering Committee has decided to continue our progress in organizing by Congressional Districts and to use this next meeting as an opportunity to hear from Jonathan Tasini about where he stands on the issues that are so important to us. New York has a special role to play in PDA. We are the home of Hillary Clinton, running for the Presidency in 2008. She is pro-war, has called for putting more troops into Iraq, sponsored a flag-burning law, and was one of only five Democrats to give Bush a winning margin on his Star Wars budget--where the US is proclaiming its mission to dominate the military use of space causing havoc with Iran, China, Japan, North Korea, and Russia. She proudly announced the military contracts she has brought to Long Island. SHE MUST BE CHALLENGED IN THE PRIMARY when she runs for re-election to the Senate this November.

Please join us at this important event. New York can lead the way with an energized and principled challenge to Hillary Clinton which will help to promote our progressive issues on to the national agenda. Peace,

New York Metro Steering Committee (in formation)
