Some Observations about BushSubmitted by John Korab on 2006, September 13 - 10:09pm.
1) He doesn't act like a public servant, instead he treats the American voter like we're his servants. 2) He never answers questions, he just keeps repeating the same talking points. 3) To quote an awesome letter in today's NY Times: That exact outcome was bin Laden's stated objective. Why is Bush allowing bin Laden to frame and, therefore, win this conflict? 4) Why does Bush keep using bin Laden's latest propaganda in his speeches?? Isn't repeating the enemy's propaganda the same as helping him spread it?? Who's side is Bush on??? It's disturbing... I can't imagine FDR incoporating Hitler's propaganda about "Great Jewish Conspiracy" to destroy the German nation into his speeches. 5) Is bin Laden really like Hitler? If so, why haven't we killed him?? 6) To paraphrase something Nixon said while debating Humphrey... If the greatest military power in the world is stuck, mired in a stalemate against a 3rd rate military power, without an exit strategy and without a victory, for four years [well, 3 with Iraq and 5 with Afghanistan], then it's time for a change. If the greatest economy in the world is stuck in a seemingly endless malaise, where only the wealthiest seem to progress, then it's time for a change. If the President of the United States cannot travel abroad or to any major city at home [including Salt Lake City!!] without facing a hostile protest, then it is time for a change. America deserves better. [I got the closest as I could from memory] 7) Finally, one of the reasons bin Laden attacked us was because we had troops in Saudi Arabia. One of the reasons neo-cons gave for invading Iraq was to get the troops out of Saudi. Wouldn't redeploying our troops so bin Laden won't attack us constitute "Appeasement?" Did Bush really think appeasing bin Laden would make him go away? Shocking as it might seem, Bush's policies seem to be aimed at increasing the power of bin Laden's movement, not at isolating him from mainstream opinion. ( categories: Rants )
